Welcome to my images

After so many years of capturing images, it was time to showcase them

My journey with photography started when I was fourteen and I bought a Casina CT-1a which i still have along with all my cameras I’ve bought over the years. In those days I was quite shy so felt self conscious with a camera! This lead me to do landscape photography as I felt more at ease with this.

It was a good way to learn composition and understand light. This was the good old film days and black and white gave me the opportunity to add mode and texture as I didn’t have post production, you had to get it right in camera. A good training ground even if I didn’t realise it at the time!

Photography for me is about capturing small moments in time that collectively show the big picture of your life.

Macro photography opens up another world of detail.

Understanding light takes photography to another level.

Photography

Seeing a shot isn’t always so obvious, composing it and getting the right post production can add or subtract from what you intended.

Macro

This can really open up another world, one that is right there in front of you but because we don’t look closely enough most of the time we miss it.

Portrait

I think portraiture photography is one of the hardest to be consistently good at. Not only have you to master the technical side of photography but you also have to master the interaction of the model and set the tone of the shot all at the same time!
